I survived the week!

This was my first week of school. I am in a long term 4th grade position until January. It is for a friend of mine that is out on maternity. I am trying to talk her into staying out there year but I don't know if that will happen. The best part is that once her maternity runs out in Mid-September I will get my salary for the remainder of my time there. That is the earliest I have gotten my salary since I was hired for the 04-05 school year. I hope it is a sign of good things to come.

It is also nice because I am back at a school that I haven't worked at in a while. Its great to see old (not old in age ;) Lori, I know you were thinking it) friends and meet new ones too!

So if I am a little cranky pants just remember that I have a little baby that doesn't like sleep all that much and I am working with 24 fourth graders. YIKES!

4 Months!

Ethan and Manny Month 4

The little man is getting so big! He turned 4 months today. He is rolling both ways now and squirming all over the place. Whenever I put him on his little gym mat on the floor, he manages to turn all the way around and wiggle right off the mat. He is still loving his Rainforest Jumperoo too. If you have a baby Ethan's age I highly recommend it.

Today Emma and I attended Emily's baby shower. It was such a nice shower with lots of yummy food. Emma made a new buddy right away and they "helped" Emily with all of her loot. I hope she didn't drive Emily too nuts. Emily recieved tons of really nice things and her little lady was very spoiled. I can't wait to meet her soon.


We have had a little baby boom with our friends since Ethan was born. Our friend Jill R. had a little lady, Eve Elizabeth, in June. Then Sammy's Mom, Jill M., had a second little guy, Jack Stephan, this weekend. Next we have Emily is due in October. I think next summer will be filled with tons of playdates, I can't wait!

Emma Talk

This morning I went to get Ethan from his nap. When I came down Emma had an apple in her hand.

Mommy: Emma are you having an apple?

Emma: Yeah, I want to eat it like a horse.

Mommy: A horse?

Emma: Yeah, so don't cut it up.

Wordless Wednesday

Rolling...Rolling...Rolling

I forgot to mention last night. We have a roller for sure! Ethan finally made it from his back to his belly last night. He has been going from his belly to back for a while but back to belly was tricky. His arm would always get in the way. Last night he did it though just a week shy of his 4 month birthday.

A New to Us Zoo

We went to Southwick's Zoo today. I had never been before but had heard good things about it so I wanted to check it out before school starts next week. We invited the cousins to come along with us too.

Emma wasn't really into anything at first. She is in the middle of an "I'm so scared" phase. This particular phase involves fear of EVERYTHING. On the way to the zoo she was super excited and talking it all up. As soon as we walked into it she wanted to be held the entire time, fun. She did better after lunch so that's a bonus. Especially for Josh's back.

Ah...the Llamas. Remeber when I was zoo counselor that summer? I still hate llamas but I hate mini horses more. Guess what was in this pen with the Llama? Yup a mini-horse, and I still hate them both.

All in all it was a great zoo day. I'm glad the Cumberland Almeidas joined us. Everyone really behaved themselves and we really didn't have any major breakdowns. Now the countdown to back to school begins, boo hoo. I guess being off since mid-April is long enough though.

Birthdays

We had another big birthday weekend. My grandmother celebrated her birthday this friday. We went back over to my Aunt Denise and Uncle Andy's house for the second weekend in a row. Emma was really getting used to everyone and coming out of her shell. They were all getting a chance to see the Emma that we know at home. I think she has a thing for Aunt Denise. She is forever making things for her at home and wanted Aunt Denise to buckle her in her carseat when we left. What a goofy girl.

Sunday was Gabe's 6th Birthday party. It was an Indiana Jones party. We arrived a little late because Josh had a golf tournament in the morning. When we finally arrived they were having a scavenger hunt. Steph did a really good job with it. All the kids of many different ages were all engaged and excited. It was really cute.

Ethan's Room

Now that little man is almost 4 months old (Can you believe it?) I finally finished his room. We were waiting for the crib to come, which came yesterday to finish it up. The crib came a little banged up and one side is a little broken (he won't fall out or anything) so they are sending us a new part.

Here he is just after waking from his nap today. Aunt Steph let us borrow Gabe's sailboat bumper. The crib...see you can't even tell its broken.
