"Wanna see my Christmas tree?"

If you do not like to hear about poop stop here.

Ok you have been warned.

Emma: (running out of the bathroom) Momma, wanna see my Christmas tree?

Mommy: Sure where is it?

Emma: It's in the potty.

Mommy: (Following Emma) Ok...what are you talking about?

Emma: (Pointing at her latest deposit in the potty) See Mommy it's pointy like a Christmas tree.

Mommy: So it is.

Emma: Yup, the ants in my butt made it and a I pushed it out.

Some Pics From the Past Week

This Flounder hat came with Emma's cotton candy when we went to Disney on Ice. Ethan wanted to try it out too. I guess it is true that the big fish eat the little fish.
Grampy took this pic while he was watching the kids this week. Ethan is passed out in the airplane swing and Emma looks oh so thrilled to be having her picture taken. She is "Two with a 'Tude" for sure!

Waiting Patiently for Dinner

I'll just eat this...

Thanks for looking!

5 Months?

Yes, it's true. Ethan is FIVE MONTHS OLD! Crazy isn't it? We took the ceremonious picture with Manny. It is getting really hard to have him sit still for it. He likes to be on the move. He can get to where he wants for sure. He isn't crawling or anything yet,but he can roll like a champ. He log rolls all over the floor and follows Emma around just to annoy her. Isn't that what little brothers are for?

Emma always loves to be in on the pics too.
The other big milestone of the day is that Ethan had his first veggie. Just like Emma, he tried carrots first. I will try to add a video if I ever get a free moment. He sort of liked them. Well he wasn't repulsed by them or anything.

On September 21st Emma, Nanny, and I headed to the Dunkin' Donuts Center for Disney on Ice. Emma LOVED it! Before the show they had a display of princess gowns. Emma was enthralled with the whole thing.

After the show we headed to Nanny and Grampy's house to celebrate Nanny's birthday. Ethan did some jumping while Emma taught Hayden how to dance to "I'm a Little Teapot". It was super cute!

Emma....you "bonehead"

Josh was leaving for work today and I told him to take a book that a friend had given me.

Emma: What did Daddy say?

Mommy: He said he didn't want to take the book.

Emma: Why?

Mommy: I don't know...maybe he's a bonehead.

Emma: (giggles) What is Ethan doing?

Mommy: He's drinking his bottle.

Emma: He looks like a little bonehead too.

Sleep...in need of sleep!

Isn't that the face of a teething boy? That is why we have not been getting much sleep around here. I am pretty sure he has some teeth coming in or at least that is what I am blaming it on. He has some of the symptoms and he has been getting up every 2 hours at night. It is really hard to get up with him so much at night and then have to deal with 24 fourth graders during the day. I am not really sure what I am working on to get through the day, but I am starting to wish that I didn't hate coffee.

On Friday, I went to work with getting maybe about three hours of sleep. My class had music that day and I was so happy to drop them off to get a little break that morning. When I dropped them off at the class the music teacher said to me, "Mrs. Almeida, can I ask you what is up with your voice?" Our music teacher is blind so he couldn't see the bags under my eyes but just from my voice he could tell how tired I am. I told him about the lack of sleep in our home and he said that I could be a TV news reporter with a voice like that.

Last night I put some Oragel on him and he only woke up twice so I will be doing that again tonight. Hopefully this little tooth will pop soon because Momma needs so sleep.

On to some pics....

What do you think, still blue?

His new football outfit! I love it!

No pics of Emma this week as she has desided that clothes are optional at home. I will not post undie pics of my two year old. That's just wrong!

Have a great week!

Milestone Catch-Up!

School really cuts into my blog-time so here is a little catch up post.

August 26, 2008
I was home with Ethan for about four and a half months. Wouldn't you know that for my first day back he discovers his toes. I guess it's okay that Josh got to see one of his tricks before me.
Oh and this picture was totally staged. This is really from September 8th but I just wanted to show you how cute he his grabbing those little toes.

August 27, 2008Ethan's first food on a spoon.
We tried rice cereal for the first time on this day. Ethan has been getting some in his bottle for the past month or so at night to help fill his little tummy up. He was not at all impressed with it. I am sure he will catch on soon though.

Random cute shot

September 7, 2008
Yesterday, he was sortof sitting on his own. As you can see, he is hunched over quite a bit but I think it still counts as sitting. He stayed like this for quite a while. Emma was very impressed with this new trick and kept asking if Ethan could do his trick again.

September 8, 2008

Today was quite a busy day for Emma, Ethan, and Josh. I had to work so Josh got to take the kids to all of their appointments today. First up was Ethan. He had his 4 month check up this morning. It was a little late, since he is about 4.5 months now, but close enough. He is growing well. He is now 16lbs. 8 ozs and 26 inches long. He is still a big guy and in the 90th percentile in all areas. Way to grow,Ethan! He also received three shots, which broke my heart that I wasn't able to be there. Josh said he took them like a big boy and stopped crying as soon as he picked him up.

Emma had a big day too. This afternoon was her first ever eye doctor appointment. Josh said that she was not at all excited to go. All the way there she was pitching a fit in the car, kicking the seat and crying. Once in the reception area she was still crying and Josh knew she was scared. Finally when they were in the exam room she began to calm down checking out all of the instruments.

She had to cover one eye and identify animal shapes on the wall. Next she put on glasses and point out pictures that were sticking out at her in 3D. Then she looked a color blind tests and traced the numbers that were in circles. She giggled the whole time and did so fantastic that she received 4 stickers! Josh and Em stopped at Target on the way home and picked out a new Woody toy (From Toy Story) for a job well done. Josh was very impressed with his little lady. When I got home from work today she told me all about it and said she can't wait to go again.

I think you are all caught up now. I will try to do better keeping up, this school thing is really holding me back.

Thanks for reading!

"Make it all Pretty"

Earlier today at our house...

Mommy: Emma want to play?

Emma: Ok, let's play dollhouse. That would be real fun!

Mommy: Ok, that sounds good. Go set it up and I'll play.

Emma: Ok, (runs towards dollhouse) wait how about if we have a party?

Mommy: In your dollhouse? That sounds great.

Emma: No Mommy! In my house. Make it all pretty and then my friends can come over.

Oh, Emma if it was only that easy.

The Saga of Ethan's Crib....ugh!

Some of you might recall this past summer there was a huge crib recall. I was still pregnant with Ethan when we found out that Emma's crib was being recalled. I guess that if the baby kicks the wood slats the right way they could break and the baby could become trapped.

We had to wait for a package to come in the mail. Take apart the crib. Put all the crib bolts in an envelope and wait for a voucher to come in the mail. By the time the voucher came Ethan was almost 3 months old.

I went to Babies R Us with voucher and had to chose one of the three white cribs they had. I had to get white to match the rest of the furniture. It ended up costing me like $80 extra. Once home I went online and picked out one I liked better and it was cheaper so I returned crib 2 to the store and ordered crib 3.

Now I had to wait for the FedEx guy to come. It seemed like he would never get to our house. Ethan was out growing the pack 'n' play that the poor guy was forced to sleep in. I also kicked him and the pack 'n play out of our room because he is like sleeping next to a baby pig, snorting all night long.

When the crib finally arrived the box was pretty banged up but we were just happy it came. Josh and I assembled it in a 100 degree room, drenched in sweat but Ethan had a crib, yeah!

Well don't get too excited....if you have been reading this blog you might recall this post. The one showcasing his new room where I mentioned the new crib was broken. I called the crib company and she asked me which parts were broken and said that they would arrive in 5-7 days.

Fast Forward to this week, which is by the way 2 weeks later. The new parts are yet to arrive. Earlier this week Josh called the company again only to discover that crib #3 has been discontinued. Which means they no longer carry the parts we require. Now we need to take apart crib #3 and mail it back to BabiesRUs.com and purchase crib #4! UGH!

That, folks, is how I will be spending my Saturday. Josh, Emma, Ethan, and I will be heading back to Babies R Us today and most likely purchasing crib #2 again. Wish us luck!
