We're going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo

We went to Roger Williams Zoo today. It was a perfect zoo day; not too hot or too cold. It was also Ethan's first trip to the zoo. They have a butterfly exhibit right now that was really cool.

On the way to the Flutterby exhibit.

The butterfly exhibit was in a big greenhouse. Emma was a little scared at first. It is a little overwhelming, there were butterflies everywhere. I wasn't really used to butterflies flying so close and right by my head but it was pretty cool. Here are some of the butterflies that stayed still long enough for me.

You can see how into it Emma was at first.

By the end she was much better.

Back in the zoo we stopped to see the Harbor Seals. They were swimming all around.

When we were on our way home Emma said that the giraffes were her favorite so I am glad I took this shot.

Checking out the Elephants

...and the penguins.

Onto the Flamingos

Josh wanted to go under the mister in the worst way. Emma wanted no part of that. Poor Josh, he is always hot.

Everyone that comes to the zoo needs to get their picture on the dog.

Happy Boy

Later on today we took Bailey to the vet for her check up. She was fantastic. I was so surprised that she is down to 84 pounds. I really can't believe it . She was 96 or so at her highest weight. She has been looking pretty good lately so I am proud of how well she is doing. She is now up to date on all of her shots and all that fun stuff. After she got off the table she ran over to check out Ethan in his carseat. She really is a good dog.

Bailey was rewarded with a new collar from Allie's Tack Shop today. She looks so nice and I threw out her ratty old one. It was so nasty!

All in all we had a great day today. The best part is Josh has tomorrow off too so the fun can continue. I think he will join us for ballet tomorrow. Emma can't wait!

3 Months!

3 Months with Manny:

Last month with Manny:

I think Ethan is a little chunkier this month.

Ethan is 3 months old today. He is getting so big. Can you believe he is already 1/4 of a year old! Emma, Ethan and I ventured out in this crazy rain to get their pictures done. Emma was fantastic which, as anyone that has ever had a 2 and a half year old knows, is a HUGE deal. She didn't have an attitude at all. You can check out the pictures at:
Portrait Simple: Warwick

just click my name and the password is 8328.

Here are some Manny outtakes for your viewing pleasure...
Notice the fear in Ethan's eyes in the above picture...poor guy.

This is what you get when you ask Emma not to make that funny face.

And finally Manny is consoling Ethan, how sweet.

"There's another one in there"

This morning Emma was helping me get Ethan dressed and this is what she said...

Emma: Oh Ethan you are so cute! Mommy remember when Ethan was in your tummy?

Mommy:Yup, I remember.

Emma: I couldn't jump on you then or I would squish Ethan. Know what? There's another one in there (she touches my belly) See Mommy that's not your food.

Which one are you?

Come on, like you aren't wondering which princess you are....Bobby?

Here's mine:

Pure and trusting. You are a gentle soul who can get along with just about anyone. Everyone you meet instantly falls in love with you. How can they resist? You have a pure, lovable nature that's irresistable. Just don't trust everyone who comes across your path.

Could she be any sweeter?

This morning Emma was watching Caillou, I know its's a terrible show (could that boy whine any more?). Anyway, Caillou was visiting his grandmother, well grandma is really fun and let Caillou help fold her laundry (gee thanks Grandma). After the episode Emma looked over at me and said, "Mom you're the best. Thanks for folding my laundry." She followed it up with a hug. I could just eat her, she is so sweet.

Last Day of Gymboree

Have you ever wondered exactly what goes on at Gymboree? Well here it is, Emma's last class. She has been going since she was about 10 months old. She has really gotten a lot out if it over the past few years. It taught her to be patient and wait her turn and how to play with other kids. It was also great for her motor skills and agility. I really have enjoyed our time in class but now its on to ballet and Ethan will get Gymbo next summer.

When we first arrive we take off our shoes and play for a little until class starts.

We then sing a song about coming to Gymboree and do the Shape Boogie Dance.

For this class all of the kids stood on a shape and we moved like different animals. Emma picked the Elephant and we all moved like elephants.

Then my helpful little lady helped Ms. Kelly clean up.

Ethan and Grandma Jean came to watch.

Oh no an elephant squirted water on Emma's head.

Then its bubble time. On this day they caught the bubbles in little cups.

The chaos that is Gymboree

Then we shake the bubbles...

Finally the kiddos go under the parachute while the adults lift it above them.

Now ordinarlly in every other level that would be the end. Emma is in the big kid class now so what they do is hop on the train, Emma got to be the leader this time, and drop the grown ups off at the entrance.

The kids go back for a snack and a few stories.

Then they all hide and we get to find them. I wonder where Emma hid?

Then it is time to boogie down some more. Doesn't she have some sweet moves?

No Gymboree class would be complete without a hug from Gymbo.

Then its time to get a gymbo stamp (or 5) and then put on your shoes.

Since it was her last day I let her pick a little souviour. We went with the small giggle Gymbo. She cuddled him all the way home. See all clowns are not scary.
That's it. Now you know what Gymboree is all about. Don't you want to go? I know we will miss it and our friends but its time for something new. We can always go and visit.

and now for the "Poor Ethan" moment of the week. Big sister Emma thought that wearing a crown was so fun that Ethan should give it a try. I am sure he will love this picture when he is about 14 or so.

Everybody now.....Poor Ethan!

Playdate and Pics

Yesterday Jill and Sam came over to spend the afternoon with us. Sammy and Emma play so well together and I always enjoy Jill's company.

Sam is a gentleman and skimmed the pool for Emma

Emma Do

Sam the Man
Now that I have a boy I am a little concerned. Above is the best picture I could get of Sam. That boy is FAST! I have a pretty quick camera but it couldn't even catch him. Most of the pics I got looked like this:

Is that how boys are? No wonder Jill is so tiny!

Hide-n-seek
Emma gave Jill and I a huge scare in the afternoon. We were hanging out by the pool since it was so nice. Sam and Emma were walking around the pool deck while I held Ethan and chatted with Jill. Then we heard a splash. Jill took Ethan and I dove into the pool. Emma had fallen in across the pool and I got to her quickly. It was still scary that she was in the water alone. She wanted to get out of the pool and out of her bathing suit right away. I think they were trying to reach a raft in the water. After relaxing on the couch for a while she was better. I am not sure that I am yet though.

Last night when I was tucking her into bed she said to me, "Mommy, I was brave today." She was brave she kept kicking her feet in that water until I got to her. She was keeping her face out of the water. What a tough little lady.

Now for the Ethan boy. I really can't get over how grown up he is to me. Do the second ones grow faster?

I am not sure what the monkey said but it must have been pretty intense.
